It’s Been Fun, Everyone!

Over the past month or so, you may have noticed a major reduction in content creation on LiveSOMA.com.

Due to a number of reasons, I have decided to end the website’s 3.5 year run as South of Market’s source for neighborhood info and insight.

I want to thank everyone who has been supportive and helpful over the years. This truly would never have grown without the ongoing community support, and for that, I am forever grateful.

Unfortunately, life moves on. I no longer have the time, energy or motivation to continue this site. While I had high hopes for what this would become, it was a constant battle to keep it going while somehow maintaining a ‘day job’ and a family life.

With the birth of my first son, a ridiculously overwhelming list of work-related projects, and the fact that I was recently priced out of the South of Market Neighborhood and forced to move to a part of the City where homeless people aren’t constantly pooping on my doorstep (GASP!), I have decided not to continue.

With that said, if anyone out there would like to dust off LiveSOMA, I will gladly help you take it over. I would really hate to see the site- and its years of development- go to waste. Just shoot me an email. If not, I will be pulling the plug after the new year.

Other than that… catch you on the flip side. It’s been a fantastic experience building this community from scratch.

  1. So sorry to hear this. Really enjoyed your site. I’m not a full time SOMA resident but my BF was and I can’t tell you how many events we were notified of because of you.

Totally understand your decision. Good luck in your new ventures.

  2. I am bummed also. You really did a great job – I feel like I am going to miss out on a lot of stuff if you have to unplug the site. Hopefully, someone will take up your offer and will pick-up where you are leaving off.

Congratulations on fatherhood and good luck in all your endeavors.

  3. Thanks for all that you’ve done and provided to the residents. It’s been a great service and you deserve a break! I hope someone can pick it up. Best of luck with everything!

  4. Sorry to hear the news as this was my go to website to keep with all the changes in SOMA. All the best to you! Thanks.

  5. Thanks everyone, it was a very tough decision on my part… one that I’ve wrestled with for at least the past six months. I enjoyed doing it immensely, and wish I had 36 hours in a day.
