We’ve seen Del Popolo popping up around South of Market in the past, but this evening, you can pair their pizza with some great, local wine at the first of Bluxome Street Winery’s (53 Bluxome St.) six “Dinner-in-the-Drive” events:
Fire is rarely a good word in San Francisco, but in the case of Del Popolo pizza it is outstanding. We couldn’t be more pleased to have them launch our 6-week dinner-in-the-drive series. They’ll be parking their muckle of a mobile pizzeria right up to our roll-up. You’ll be able to watch them create their rustic Neapolitan-inspired pizzas in their traditional Italian-made wood-fired oven—all the while sipping our palate pleasing Russian River Pinot Noirs.
To stoke your appetite a bit more, they’ll be serving these pizzas made from ingredients sourced from small, generational producers:
– Margherita: tomato, fresh mozzarella, basil
– Bianca: fresh mozzarella, fresh ricotta, basil, garlic
– Kale: wild boar salami, fresh mozzarella, braised red russian kale, chilies
This is yet another event at Bluxome that I absolutely love having them in the neighborhood for. To view their full Current Event Listings, just head over here.
For this series, here’s a list of the other participating Food Vendors:
10/9 Dosa Republic
10/16 Sunrise Deli
10/30 Little Green Cyclo
11/6 Sam’s Chowdermobile
I would imagine if they are successful, they will probably continue the series beyond just the six. But that’s just speculation at this point.
