Updated Post on February 29th:
So we just received word that Brian Wilson (the SF Giants Closer) has been named as partial owner/partner for Lucky Strike Lanes on King Street. Read Full Details right here.
Original Post from February 23rd:
Back in October of last year, we made an educated guess that the new Lucky Strike Lanes (200 King St.) would be opening their doors by mid-February.
Well, it’s mid-February and they’re not open, BUT, we received an email from their Marketing Manager, and I’m happy to report that he has confirmed Lucky Strike Lanes will OFFICIALLY OPEN on Friday, March 9th!
That gives LSL 36 whole days to get settled in before the masses show up for the Giants Home Opener.
In our exchange, I asked him about bowling leagues because for a short time, I considered maybe starting a South of Market Bowling League (if you’re interested, let me know and maybe we can make it happen). He said that they will explore league play in the future, but for the short term, they’re not planning to host anything. Makes sense as they’re going to be getting a feel for the neighborhood, and particularly baseball season. That should keep them pretty busy for the first 8 – 9 months of operation (yes, I am planning to go deep into the post season this year).
We’ve started to get invites to take a sneak peek at the new lanes, so I hope to have something to show in the next couple of weeks leading up to the opening. We’ll keep you posted.
Hear about something cool happening around South of Market? Drop us a line and we’ll share it with the neighborhood!
