SF Police Tell LGBT Youth “It Gets Better”.

by Live SoMa

And speaking of the San Francisco Police Department… Kudos to them for issuing an official “It Gets Better” video as part of columnist Dan Savage’s nationwide campaign to end bullying of LGBT youth.

The heartfelt, eight-plus minute video features some of San Francisco’s Finest, telling their stories of what it was like to grow up gay in their respective communities. Not only is it the first video of its kind by a United States Police Department, it’s truly inspirational to see that it is widely supported by everyone from SFPD Chief Greg Suhr to Mayor Ed Lee.

According to the Youtube Channel, “this video was a concerted effort by numerous members of the SFPD with the assistance of San Francisco film maker Shawn Northcutt who produced and edited the video along with San Francisco local musician Lynden Bair who developed the musical score.”
