On Monday, we received the following Press Release about Friday Night’s Jazz Fest at AT&T Park:

Celebrating African American Arts & Culture: Featuring Local Jazz Artists Marcus Shelby & Sam Reider and The Lost Boys

The Giants, in partnership with Steven Restivo Event Services, will host their first Jazz Fest at AT&T Park on Friday, August 13, in Lefty O’Doul Plaza from 3-7 p.m., just prior to the Giants versus Padres game at 7:15 p.m.

The Jazz Fest will feature San Francisco native Sam Reider, an award winning pianist and vocalist in his third year at Columbia University.  His new project, Sam Reider and The Lost Boys, debuted at the Columbia University Composer’s Concert in Harlem last May. Marcus Shelby, who has been playing acoustic base for 23 years, will also headline this first annual Jazz Fest.  Shelby was bandleader of Columbia Records and GRP Impulse! Recording Artists Black/Note and is currently the artistic director and leader of The Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra, The Marcus Shelby Septet and the Marcus Shelby trio.

In addition to the musical performances, the Jazz Fest will feature authentic southern food and spirits, African art and ethnic jewelry from local vendors and artists.

A special ticket offer for Jazz Fest is available by visiting this link to their Special Events Page, or by calling 415-972-2233.  The $20 View Reserve Infield ticket option and the $25 Lower Box Ticket Option include entrance to the pre-game Jazz Festival in Lefty O’Doul Plaza; a seat in these special Jazz Fest sections; a limited-edition New York Giants era Willie Mays jersey t-shirt; and a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the “Say Hey” Foundation.
