Giants Ticket Giveaway: The Winner Is…

Congratulations to Danny Wong for winning the LiveSOMA.com Giants Ticket Giveaway. He correctly answered all three trivia questions less than ten minutes after they were posted to our Facebook Page (NOTE: The tickets above are not the actual tickets that we gave away).

Here are the Giants Trivia Questions and Answers:

1. Last month, fans witnessed the 53rd Splash Hit in the history of AT&T Park. Who hit it? Which pitcher gave it up?

2. In last months MLB All Star Game, how many Giants made the roster, and who actually played in the All Star game?

3. Last Season, Virgin America Day was held on a Saturday in August. Who played the Giants, and what was the final score?

Answers:

1. Andres Torres vs. Jorge Sosa (Florida)

2. Two Giants Made the Roster: Tim Lincecum and Brian Wilson. Wilson (and his big orange shoes) was the only Giant to make an appearance.

3. The Giants beat the Cincinatti Reds 4 – 2

Special thanks to the San Francisco Giants for hooking us up with a pair of tickets to Virgin America Day. Keep an eye out in the future because we hope to have more tickets, as well as other great schwag from around the neighborhood.

Update from August 2nd:

Thanks to everyone who has been paying attention to this great opportunity. We’ve been brushing up on our Giants Trivia in preparation for the contest, and I’m happy to announce that the Trivia Questions will be posted to our Facebook Fan Page at some point this Wednesday, August 4th. At this point, we will be asking 2 or 3 questions. All you have to do is ‘Like’ LiveSOMA.com and be the first person to answer all of the questions correctly. If you are the first person to answer all the questions correctly, you will win Two (2) FREE Tickets to the upcoming Giants game against the San Diego Padres on Friday, August 13th at 7:15 p.m.- Courtesy of the San Francisco Giants.

As we’ve said in the past, the game is also “Virgin America Night” where each ticket is worth a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Voucher for a flight on Virgin America. It’s like two prizes in one! If you have any questions or comments, please contact me here with “Giants Tickets” in the Subject Line. Otherwise, we’re looking forward to Wednesday!

Original Post on July 26th, 2010:

Our favorite Giants game of the season is fast approaching, and we’re celebrating with a ticket giveaway (courtesy of the Giants themselves). August 13th’s game against the San Diego Padres is also Virgin America Night where every ticket is given a “Buy One, Get One Free” Voucher for a Virgin America Flight.

As someone who tends to travel often, I can say that Virgin America is one of the best airlines out there. Not only are their flights pretty affordable compared to some of the other airlines, they also feature all sorts of in-flight entertainment, in-flight wifi access for your computer and a two power outlets for every row of three seats. I’ve even updated this site while flying on Virgin in the past.

A two-for-one voucher is perfect for you and a travel companion, and you get to watch a key game of the season in the process! The Padres are the only team ahead of the Giants in the standings right now, and every game from here on out will be important if they hope to make the playoffs.

As I mentioned, the Giants have given me some tickets that I’d like to pass onto you for this all-around great night of baseball. The contest will happen the week of August 2nd, and all you have to do is “Like” us on Facebook, and brush up on your recent Giants Trivia. We’ll be asking a trivia question on our Fan Page, and the first person to answer correctly will receive two free tickets to the game.
