Yerba Buena Gardens Festival Kicked Off This Weekend

If you’ve walked through Yerba Buena Gardens recently, you may have noticed the stage is set up for the Annual Yerba Buena Gardens Festival. They kicked off the festival this past Saturday with the World Premiere of Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra’s MLK, featuring Faye Carol, Kenny Washington, Jeannine Anderson, Nicholas Bearde. I recently received an email from the Garden’s Festival Media Contact, and he shared with me their 2010 lineup. I’m going to promote all of the events, as well as place them on the calendar to the right. If you see something that sounds good to you, click on it and you’ll find a link with further details.
If you’ve never taken part in this summer-long festival, it’s a fantastic way to spend a nice afternoon. I sometimes take my wife over there with a blanket and a bottle of wine and we sit out in the sun, listening to the free shows. They usually have a decent variety of music performances, poetry and dance that you may not otherwise see without searching it out. If you haven’t been, definitely go. If you have, what do you think about it?
