Photo of the Day: Rent A Mascot?

Keeping with the spirit of Giants FanFest, I snapped this photo of the huge scoreboard over center field because the message on the bottom right caught my eye as peculiar. So you can have Lou Seal, the Giants’ mascot, show up at your party?!?

If you’ve been to a Giants game, you’ve probably seen that daily occurrence where people ride around the field with the mascot while he launches shirts into the crowd? Well apparently that costs $400 for a weekday game and $500 for a weekend game (that includes 2 persons per ride).

If you want Lou Seal to appear at a party at an outside location, it’ll cost you $500 for an hour or $350 for a half hour. He’ll also appear at your Giants home game Tailgating Party for $100, your seat at some point during the game for $75, or for your (or your guests) birthday at the game for $100 (with gift). That seems like it would be a good treat for kids at the game. I’m not sure how much your run of the mill birthday party magician would cost, but if your kid really likes the Giants, $500 doesn’t seem all that bad to have him show up at your house for a party. If it were $100 for an hour, he’d be at the next South of Market Happy Hour event!
