CLOSED: Annie’s Social Club

Unfortunately, this economy isn’t easy for everyone. That’s the case for Annie’s Social Club on Folsom Street. Even though there are a lot of businesses opening in that area, this bar has been forced to close its doors in the new year. A message was posted to their myspace page last month detailing the situation:

Well, it’s time for the fine folks at Annie’s Social Club to say good-bye. It’s been a great run for the past 4 years, but with the falling economy (THANKS GEORGE), let’s just say it’s been hard to keep up. Please try to stop by during the last month of December to say good-bye. 

Our last and final event will be the “Penny Pinchers Ball” – a free NYE event. Finally, keep on supporting local bands and the other venues around town! We’re all in this together.

The good news (if there is any) is that even though they’re closed, they’re still having two nights of ‘Speakeasy’ fun this week. For more details on both events, click after the jump…

Plus EZ and Dizzy bullied a few freshman into being bartenders… so we’re throwing a Cock-Ts-y Karaoke Speakeasy on the main stage for all of our frenemies.

It’s also a great opportunity for you to meet our NEWEST cheerleader. We’re keeping her identity ultra top secret, cuz, who doesn’t love a surprise? Plus, she’s wanted in 49 states.
