Now @ The Metreon: Point Break Live!

I’ve seen ads for this show for a couple of years, and the timing was never right. But last month, when I saw that Point Break Live was being resurrected right here in South of Market, I notified a few friends that we MUST go before it ends its run in the end of February.
I’m a big fan of Point Break. I even dressed as Nixon for Halloween one year (with a group of friends as the other bank robbers) complete with “Thank You” written on my backside. In my opinion, it was one of the last great action films. Today, action films rely too much on explosions and special effects. Point Break used camera technique and pure action; 100% pure adrenaline, if you will.
From what I hear, Point Break Live does justice to the film in a funny and light-hearted manner. In fact, they choose one person out of the audience at each performance to play the role of Johnny Utah, originally performed by Keanu Reeves. They also serve beer and meatball heros.
If you plan to go, it’s recommended that you wear clothes that you’re willing to ruin because the audience gets splattered with water and stuff. It sounds like a good time. For more information, check out their website. If I go When I go, I’ll try to get some pictures or something.
