For those who need a reminder, Blush Organic Frozen Yogurt will be opening its doors to the public beginning tomorrow morning at 11am. Saturday will be the official Grand Opening Celebration complete with door prizes and raffles.

This afternoon, I stopped by and spent a little time with the crew, who were gracious enough to humor my presence even though I could tell they still have a lot to do before they open their doors. I managed to learn all about their frogurt plans and even snap a few pics (which you can check out after the jump).Blush_Wide CounterOne thing that I’ve noticed about all of the local businesses I’ve had the opportunity to visit is that they all seem to share my views about the necessity of a local community. Blush is no different, and there are a number of reasons why.

First, they’re heavily active in social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, but they utilize the sites to not only promote their product, but to also keep the local community informed.

Blush_Artwork 2Blush is even going a step or two further. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by crisp, clean (and still drying) artwork on the walls reminding you that everything in the store is organic, recycled and fresh. Even the chairs and tables are made from recycled products such as plastic.

Blush_Ipod Docking StationThere are four big screen tv’s throughout; three of which will feature local events such as Giants games, dvd’s and a live feed of their social networking sites. They also have an i-pod dock set up right in the middle of the seating area so that you can bring in your own music and showcase it to the customers. They did make a point to let me know that they prefer music that’s not too loud or offensive, so keep that in mind.

They also mentioned that they plan to have random giveaways such as a free yogurt to the person who happens to be paying when the Giants hit a home run. The games will be on the screen above the register, so you’ll know when it is.

Blush_FlavorsUnfortunately, I didn’t get to try the yogurt because they weren’t quite ready, and I didn’t want to pester them. I guess that means I’ll have to go back tomorrow or Saturday. Oh well.

Last Post on August 13th, 2009:

I received an email today from the owner of Blush Organic Frozen Yogurt and he wanted to let me know that they are on target to open within the next two weeks. I was getting worried because the sign in the window says “Coming this July”. I know how tough it is to get permits and such, so I’m glad to see they’re not too far off their mark.

I passed by this store front the other day.  Looks like a new frozen yogurt shop is coming to the neighborhood ‘this July’ (according to the sign, but who knows when they’ll really open).  Blush Organic Frozen Yogurt, or frogurt as I like to call it, is made fresh daily in their store.  They also use all natural, organic ingredients.  They have a couple constant flavors and a list of 8-10 other flavors that they make on a rotating schedule.
