Gay Pride Parade This Weekend

This isn’t technically ‘South of Market’, but it’s in the city, and it’s a fairly big event, so I figured I would touch on it.

This weekend is the 39th Annual San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade.  This year, the theme is “In Order to Form a More Perfect Union…”. There will be over 200 parade contingents, 300 exhibitors, and more than a dozen community-run stages and venues. The two-day celebration is free and open to all.

So no matter what your sexual preference is, are you planing to go?  I’ve never been to this event, but it looks really interesting.  I’m planing to go and get some pictures and stuff for the site.  I also want to go check out what everyone is always talking about.

Plus, I want to go try and hang out with Celebrity Grand Marshall, Cloris Leachman. She seems like a pretty hip old lady with a fantastic sense of humor.
