South Park

South Park is a quaint little park in the middle of South of Market- between Bryant and Brannan Streets and Second and Third. It’s a great place to enjoy a peaceful afternoon- a little more crowded during the week, and rather empty on weekends. It’s surrounded by apartments and condos, there are quite a few restaurants, cafes and shops to enjoy.

The park is considered ‘historic’ for a number of reasons, and has been around since the late 1800′s.

The only problem is that virtually all of the places are only open weekdays and close around 5 or 6 p.m. There’s also a playground and picnic tables as well as a lawn that you often see dogs playing on.
